Sudan update

It's only been a bit over a month since I stopped working on Sudan's political transition and already things are falling apart. Today, the SPLM - the former Southern rebels who are running a semi-autonomous South and sharing power with the North's National Congress Party in the national government - announced they have suspended cooperation with the NCP. Meanwhile, the UN issued it's monthly "moment of truth" announcement on the Darfur conflict.

Somalia's attempts at building a central government aren't going too well either. Particularly for Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi. First someone tried to kill him. And then 22 cabinet ministers resigned because they aren't happy with his government.
