Good news: Kenya's having competitive elections.

Bad news: Somalia's going from bad to worse. Ethiopia is sending more troops, even as another war with Eritrea looks more and more likely.

Speaking of Ethiopia, I ate some of their food this evening, as I often do. They have a popular drink mixing a bunch of different juices - orange, mango, passion, etc. It usually comes in layers and is delicious until you get to the avocado layer. I think avocados are possibly the greatest food on earth, but have felt firmly that they are not meant for drinking. But, when it's all mixed in with the other fruits (and there's not too much of it) the result is pretty tasty.
