Newsom in Africa

Bill Clinton was just in Ethiopia and Rwanda. George Bush was in Tanzania earlier this year. And of course Barack Obama's made a couple of trips to Kenya. But rarely does the region get a visit from a U.S. politician of this caliber:

That's right. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom leaves today for Africa. He'll be in Zanzibar, on his honeymoon. But "his cell phone will be on the whole time" in case anything important happens back home. Of course, the reporter didn't ask if his American phone service will work in Zanzibar, but whatever.
