"The truth will not set you free"

Richard Just samples some of the literature on the Darfur conflict in a long review essay in the New Republic. I read a lot about Darfur, but not much in book form, and this seems like a pretty good overview. Just provides a lot of material on why Darfur deserves an intervention, but doesn't have much to say about what a good intervention would actually look like. And he doesn't give much space to wrestling with the arguments of intervention skeptics like Alex De Waal, whose work he nevertheless cites a few times in the essay.

Meanwhile Simon Jenkins provides a skeptical take on liberal interventionism in today's Guardian.
