Wonk blogs

Robert Reich has a post on why we should make the rich pay higher taxes. After being forced to watch multiple episodes of My Super Sweet 16 at my new gym, I couldn't agree more.

Alex de Waal has a post introducing a new book he's edited on the Darfur conflict, with analysis that is as usual a cut above what you'll get elsewhere.

Also, Dani Rodrik asks whether the so-called econ-blogosphere is in danger. I've developed a taste for these wonk blogs lately, where academics (not just economists) who unlike most bloggers have something worthwhile to contribute beyond links, present their views in a more digestible and timely format than a journal article. I am, however, all in favor of doing away with the term "econ-blogosphere."

And while we're on the subject, here's a Photoshop collection of stretched-out things.
