Bush to Africa

George Bush is heading off an a five-day trip to Africa. He's avoiding the continent's hotspots, instead hitting five peaceful countries that have benefited from U.S. cooperation - Benin, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, and Liberia. The Council on Foreign Relations provides a pretty good overview of the importance of the different stops. While Bush won't be going to Kenya, he has decided to send Condi to lend some weight to Kofi Annan's mediation effort (NYT). The Kenya talks have been adjourned until Monday, though Annan is expected to announce some sort of agreement on constitutional reform later today.
