Deep voices

Tanzania, being all peaceful and whatnot, doesn't generate a lot of media coverage. But it is an inviting place to conduct research on things that don't have to do with conflict. See, for example, this piece by Nichols Bakalar in the New York Times, about how men from the Hadza with deeper voices get more chicks, or at least have more kids.

On a mostly unrelated note, over 1500 Muslims had to wait at a Tanzania airport for 9 days on their way to Mecca. That's worse than Heathrow (FP).
